Our Aspiration
Located in a lush green and beautiful campus in the international township of Auroville in southern India, Deepanam is a unique school for children between the ages of 7 to 14 years. Founded in 2006, Deepanam is committed to providing an experience that aligns with the principles of integral education given by Sri Aurobindo and the Mother. The school operates under the guidance of SAIIER (Sri Aurobindo International Institute for Educational Research)

Our Approach
We believe that self-learning is the fundamental requirement towards unending education and the ‘HOW’ lies in the alignment of HHH, i.e. Head (Academics), Hands (Life skills) and Heart (Arts and Character building). The HHH learning approach is an expression of the overall integral education paradigm of engaging all parts of the being – physical, vital, mental, psychic and spiritual. The core principle of alignment and integration guides our 8-year learning program and continues to help children beyond their years at Deepanam
Our integral curriculum facilitates learning through engagement in activities, events, workshops and presentations and helps us impart important skills to students. Some of the life skills that our program fosters are problem solving, collaboration, adaptability, communication, concentration, self-awareness and connecting with compassion. At Deepanam we are constantly exploring initiatives that support our aspiration

Our eight-year learning program is divided into four mixed age groups. The mixed age groups provide abundant opportunities for exploration and peer-learning
Light Group (7 and 8 year olds)

At Deepanam, our educators are more than just teachers – they are facilitators. We strongly believe that learning is a collaborative effort and our educators play a vital role in facilitating that process. Our team of dedicated individuals focus on the unique journey of every student. They are a bridge between inspiration and action
To support the vision of unending education we recognize that the student and teachers are co-learners and that teachers also have much to learn from their students. By listening to our students, we gain insights into their unique perspectives, needs, and strengths. By embracing the idea of co-learning, we believe that we can create a more inclusive, supportive, and effective learning community where everyone has the opportunity to grow and thrive.
Supporting the child in his learning journey, is the aspiration that lies at the heart of everything we do. Our goal is to create an environment where every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. We believe that by working together with parents, teachers, and the broader community, we can help each child achieve their academic and personal goals.
